  • France to Restrict Mobile Phone Use in Schools

    France will announce a restriction on using mobile phones at secondary schools starting September this year.

    Mr. Edouard Geffray, the French Minister of Education, said his ministry will release the guidelines to all school institutions for school preparation before the restriction’s implementation.

    Indonesia, just like its neighbors, is willing to care for the welfare of its citizens, especially those in need and students.

    But at the same time, Indonesia is trying to save its budget by planning to cut the number of recipients who receive free meals at school. Not all students will be cut, only some.

    Those who are planned to be cut are the ones at elite schools and those who have school pocket money around 100,000 to 200,000 rupiah. While those who are still in the needy category will still receive the free meals.

    The original mission of the free meals is to provide better nutrition for the students. It means, the new cut is focusing more on the original mission rather than focusing on the number of recipients.

    In conjunction with the Islamic New Year, all government offices and services, and some companies, will be closed on Wednesday, 17 June 2026. Therefore, services will resume the next day, Thursday, 18 June 2026.

    Meanwhile, the ceremony for reciting the end of year and new year prayers will be held on Wednesday afternoon, 17 June 2026, just before the Maghrib prayer. The prayer recitation ceremony will be held at all mosques, prayer halls and balai ibadat across the nation.
